TARGET AUDIENCE

This course is designed for physicians, certified registered nurse anesthetists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, registered nurses and other medical care providers who must maintain state-of-the-art knowledge of the anesthesia specialty or are impacted by it.

PROGRAM PURPOSE

Various therapeutic uses for ketamine have emerged and it is important for anesthesia providers to become abreast of the newest research into ketamine use and its clinical usefulness in treating a variety of conditions (e.g. mental health disorders, chronic pain, neuropathic pain, etc.). Anesthesia providers may also be hesitant to incorporate ketamine into their clinical practice and this course provides a framework for how to begin utilizing ketamine in a novel way.

OBJECTIVES

At the conclusion of this activity, the participant will be able to:

Gain an understanding of the pharmacology of ketamine infusion therapy as it relates to treatment-resistant depression (TRD), and other mental health depression disorders
Provide a detailed walkthrough of the pharmacokinetics and dynamics of ketamine at the various receptors it effects
Provide an overview of the research that has been done with ketamine and pain disorders highlighting the main indications: CRPS, PLP, LDN, migraine, cluster headache, fibromyalgia, and TGN
Develop an improved understanding of some of the pitfalls associated with establishing, staffing, marketing, and operating a successful ketamine clinic

COURSE CANCELLATION BY PROVIDER

We reserve the right to cancel a course for any reason. In such case, a minimum of 30 days notice will be given to those registered and 100% of tuition paid will be refunded. NWAS and NWWT will not be responsible for any non-refundable airfare, hotel, or other liabilities you may incur. We highly recommend purchase of travel insurance. Travel at your own risk.

COURSE CANCELLATION FEE

$100 November 26, 2021 to December 26, 2021. No refund after December 26, 2021; however, 50% of tuition paid may be applied toward tuition for another NWAS program within the next 12 months. Cancellation must be made in writing.
