Saturday, October 4 - Board Ship in New York, New York
Immerse yourself in New York City for five minutes, and you'll see why it's like no other place on earth. Only here will you find all of America's best attributes - the diversity, the culture, the style - intensified in such an intriguing way. If you're a first-time visitor, come see the Empire State and Chrysler Buildings, the Statue of Liberty, Rockefeller Center, Times Square, the Bronx Zoo, Staten Island Ferry, Brooklyn Bridge and all the other world-famous attractions. If you've been here before, there's always another neighborhood to explore, another restaurant to try, another Broadway show or museum to see; another don't-miss cultural performance or sporting event. In Brooklyn, you can enjoy taking a roller coaster ride, visiting the beach, seeing a dolphin show at Coney Island or exploring one of the world's best Egyptian collections at the Brooklyn Museum of Art. The Bronx has more parkland than any of the other boroughs, a renowned botanical garden, a world-famous zoo, stately mansions, historic sites, a "Little Italy", beaches and City Island, an island reminiscent of a New England fishing village. Don't forget to include a trip aboard the free Staten Island Ferry. The excursion from the tip of Manhattan cruises through New York Harbor past the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and Governors Island, allowing an unobstructed view of lower Manhattan. Visit the Jacques Marchais Museum of Tibetan Art, which is one of only two Himalayan-style, monastery buildings in the Western world, and the only one in the United States. The Chinese Scholar's Garden at the Staten Island Botanical Garden is the only authentic one of its kind in the country. Shoppers can discover it all in New York City--from bargain bazaars to luxury boutiques to major department stores and more. Discover the flavor of the five boroughs by choosing from a variety of world-famous New York City restaurants.
Sunday-Thursday, October 5-9 - Cruising the Atlantic Ocean

This grand experience is back. Introducing Queen Mary 2, the most famous destination between New York and London. An icon for the new age, QM2 has all of the majesty of her historic Cunard predecessors, plus a cache of amenities to suit 21st-century sensibilities.

Imagine spending six days sailing between the two greatest cities in the world - and have the chance to do all the things you don't have the time for at home. Pamper yourself in the Canyon Ranch SpaClub®. Sample cuisine by some of the world's most famous chefs. Pursue your special interest at QM2's very own cultural academy, with classes offered by the University of Oxford. Explore the stars in the world's only planetarium at sea. Take in a play at the Royal Court Theatre, staged by the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. Or simply unwind in a deck chair and catch up on your reading. QM2 was built with the sophisticated traveler in mind, and offers just about everything you can imagine that will help you relax, rejuvenate, and discover new perspectives.

Friday, October 10 - Southampton, England
Southampton is a modern city rich in heritage from its time as a Roman seaport to today's modern, bustling, vibrant cosmopolitan city. The city is home to some of the region's best concert halls and venues, boasting three outstanding art galleries and two magnificent theatres. At the northern edge of the city centre is Southampton's cultural quarter, with the elegant art deco City Art Gallery, containing 3,500 works of art covering six centuries. Come and discover Southampton's Old Town, one of the gems of England. A place, with some unique features, that has played its part in the country's history and that, for diverse reasons, attracted the interest of William The Conqueror, Henry V, William Shakespeare, the Pilgrim Fathers, Isaac Watts and Jane Austen. Walk in their footsteps seeing buildings that span centuries of time, be captivated by the spell of very impressive medieval town walls that rival any to be found in England and wonder at The Bargate, one of the country's finest medieval town gates. Within a short distance of the Old Town is the waterfront, peaceful now with cruise ships and container vessels that are such a feature of Southampton, but once of vital importance for the D-Day landings. Solent Sky, with its wonderful display of historic aircraft, is nearby. When night falls, there are traditional and historic pubs and funky bars and music venues. Just a short trip from the port of Southampton, London is a fascinating city and a sightseer's dream. City tours visit the major attractions, including Big Ben and Parliament, Westminster Abbey, the Tower of London, St. Paul's Cathedral and the Strand. With a little planning, it's fairly easy to tour the city on your own.

TARGET AUDIENCE:
This course is designed for Physicians, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists, Registered Nurses, Physician Assistants and other medical care providers who need to obtain or update resuscitation skills and documentation.

PROGRAM PURPOSE:
Due to the inherent knowledge, skills, practice locations, and populations of patients served by practitioners of anesthesiology and/or emergency and critical care medicine, the physicians, nurses, and other such advanced care providers are summoned to serve the dying patient, particularly those whose death is sudden and unexpected. This program is designed to update these practitioners with the latest consensus on this body of scientific information in the form of formal guidelines provided by national agencies, recognized to possess the resources to develop guidelines and identify mandatory skills, which are required to provide quality resuscitative care for patients of all ages in all clinical and non-clinical locations.

OBJECTIVES: At the conclusion of this program, the participant will be able to:
Explain the latest guidelines for resuscitation, including but not limited to basic scientific studies, pharmacology, dysrhythmia identification, pertinent equipment and recommended therapeutic intervention, featuring those most recently added or altered, through the citation of the specific scientific background for each and the description of how this newer information impacts the performance of resuscitative procedures.

Successfully meet the current requirements of the American Heart Association and, as appropriate, other pertinent agencies jointly sponsoring guidelines with this association, in documenting proficiency in providing resuscitative care

Apply this information in the clinical setting most commonly encountered in the day-to-day clinical practice of the participant.
